Shareable: All things be ready if the mind be so, ~William Shakesphere.

Welcome to the Fall Equinox!

Equinox comes from Latin meaning “equal night,” referring to the roughly 12-hour day and 12-hour night that occurs only on the two equinox days of the year, representing perfect balance.

As you know, the Autumn Equinox is a meaningful time of year honoring the harvest. The harvest can refer to the things we’ve planted as much as the harvest of our thinking, intentions and efforts; professionally and personally.

If we look back at the Spring Equinox, COVID was upon us. For many, our thinking and efforts were placed simply on trying to survive. Which is why, it’s especially important to consider this equinox.

If our focus is still around what’ s going wrong, we’re actually setting ourselves up for more of the same as we move toward the end of the year and beyond.

Recall, in a previous newsletter, our brain defaults to focusing on what’s wrong 80% of the time causing cortisol to spike. When we are increasingly stressed, our IQ can drop 10-15 points.

The harvest of our thoughts and certainly our businesses can only fully be realized when the environment of our mind is fertile: calm, clear and open.

When we intentionally prime the environment of our mind, our biochemistry works for us, not against us. We can focus more easily on what feels good, what is working and right with the world.
